Writing World Must Haves (2).png

In addition to being a massive word nerd, I am a pretty big geek when it comes to the environment. On this page you will find several items that my family and I use. I believe that every action, however small, can add up to something of consequence. At least, that is what I tell myself. :)

Will you join me?

Household Products

Grove Collaborative

One place where I get a lot of my eco-friendly products is Grove Collaborative. In addition to providing great options, this company turns around and spends a portion of their profits on planting trees and working to heal our hot mess of a planet. The first picture you see below is my first order from Grove. Because of their awesome incentives for first time buyers, I got over a month’s worth of paper and cleaning products for the bargain price of $50 (including shipping!).

One of the first eco-friendly switches I made was to bamboo toothbrushes. When you think about recycling, chances are you don’t think about recycling your toothbrush, but often, they are one of the most frequent items littering beaches and waterways. Bamboo toothbrushes decompose easily and work great.

Reusable Plastic Straws

We drink a lot of smoothies at our house. Like, on the daily. There are four of us and if you do the simple math you’d figure out that we use 28 straws a week, almost 1,500 a year. Instead of using disposable straws we reuse these sturdy, washable plastic ones. With a little hot water, soap and the brush included they are easy to keep clean and defintely clean mother nature cleaner!

Bamboo Cloth Rounds

I use these bamboo cloth rounds to cleanse my face each morning and remove my makeup each night. Rather than throw away 14 pieces of trash a week, I simply wash them and reuse! One my all-time favorite eco-friendly habit switches. You can grab 20, plus a little laundry bag for less than $10, here.
